May 11, 2022. Priscilla was born August 5, 1949.
Priscilla was born on August 5,1949 in Clovis, NM to Bobby Gene Alexander and Sybil
Jane Ham-Alexander. She graduated from Midland Lee High School in 1967, first
married at the age of twenty, and had her first and only daughter 5 years later.
As a young and stylish woman, she worked at Little’s Dress Shop in Lubbock, TX. She
later worked as a secretary for her parent’s Imperial Produce here in Midland, TX where
she remained for the rest of her life. She was a wonderful mother, loving daughter, and
devoted wife who was as strikingly beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She
valued her close friends and family to a degree that many do not. She passionately loved
animals, especially cats and dogs. She held an active role in the Humane Society for
many years and at one point served as president. She was consistently involved in
helping animals throughout her life. She advocated for pets by encouraging people to be
responsible pet owners, often took in strays herself, and carefully vetted those wanting
to adopt.
In her later years, as her health declined, she resided in a nursing facility where her
spirit continued to outshine any physical limitations. She participated in many activities,
headed the poker game, served as president of the resident council where she advocated
for other residents, led bingo, and even led a bible study on certain Sundays.
Priscilla was extremely compassionate. No matter what might be going on in her life she
was more worried about others than she was about herself. Even after her health
deteriorated, her 'inner' qualities never changed. One of her greatest gifts was never
forgetting a holiday or birthday for family and friends. It did not matter how distant
people became, her spirit to give and send holiday wishes never wavered. Even while
living within the confinement of a nursing home and with disabilities, she found ways to
give and make the holidays of those she loved special in some way. It was only when she
could no longer physically do something that she ceased giving or missed an occasion,
but she never forgot. Her giving spirit will be missed by her loved ones as well as those
whose hearts have been touched by her thoughtfulness and kindness. The world would
be a better place if there were more people like Priscilla Ann Stitt-Alexander.
She is preceded in death by Sybil Jane Ham-Alexander and Bobby Gene Alexander as
well as extended family members whom she truly cherished. Priscilla is survived by her
daughter (Shantel Mackey), her 3-year-old grandson (Alexander Sorrells), and her
beloved dog (Mario).
She will be missed by many; especially Billy Reeves who thought of Priscilla as “Mom”
and his children Matthew Reeves, Kristian Reeves, and Sarah McClinton who thought of
Priscilla as their only grandmother.
A public visitation for Priscilla will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00
PM at Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home, 4616 N Big Spring Street, Midland, Texas 79705. A funeral
service will occur Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM, at Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home, with burial to follow. Priscilla will be laid to rest at Ellis Resthaven Memorial Park next to her parents Sybil Jane
Ham-Alexander and Bobby Gene Alexander.
