Peggy (Nanny, Neddy, NTG) was a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ, a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother, a caring sister, and a sweeter friend. She loved her whole family with all of her heart. Peggy went to be with Jesus on Friday June 14, 2024 surrounded by her children in the comfort of her home. After a long battle with cancer, she is healed and walking with Jesus, she won the battle.
Peggy was born in Wharton, Texas on July 6, 1953. She spent most of her childhood in southern Louisiana growing up in Houma. She attended elementary there and Terrebonne High School. In 1970 her father was transferred to Midland, TX where she finished her senior year at Robert E. Lee High School, later getting an associates degree at Midland College and attending UTPB. Later in life she worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas as a regional manager, after 20 plus years she retired and moved to Houston.
Our mom was a faithful servant to our Lord and Savior. Towards the end of her life, when it was hard for her to attend church, she would not miss services live on TV. Usually from churches in Houma, Houston, and Midland. Even at her weakest times she knew she would be healed, here on Earth, or in Heaven. She loved Mark 5:34 “and He said to her, daughter your faith has made you well, go in peace and be freed from your suffering” and, she is.
Our mom loved each of her children unconditionally as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of her life and made her heart so happy. We are all so blessed that God put us in her life. She had 4 brothers and sisters which she cherished and their times together have always been full of fun and laughter. She also has many nieces and nephews, friends, and co-workers that had a special place in her heart.
Mom could always make you smile with silly songs she made up, or the nicknames she would give to us that have stuck with us to the present day. Her blue eyes are unforgettable. She never let her sickness slow her down, until she had no choice. She made the best of every situation, all of the time. She was the strongest woman we have ever known or ever will know.
Peggy is proceeded in death by her father, Henry Walton Killion, her mother, Constance Hope Killion, her sister, Virginia Anne Chandler. We know there was a great reunion in heaven. She is survived by her children, Connie Claybrook (Wade) of Midland, Catey Slusher (Jim) of Houston, and David Meek (Maribel) of Midland. Her grandchildren, Zachary (Brooke), Cali- Anne (Michael), Camryn (Coby), Tyler, Rylie, Liberty, Jasmine, David, and Emma. Her great grandchildren Crue, Houston, and Dylan. Brothers Mark Killion (Karen), Steve Killion (Peggy), and sister Cheryl Richie, many nieces, and nephews, cousins, and friends.
“The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalms 34:18
