Norma graduated from Wylie High School and married Howard Bentley on June 11, 1950. After he passed away, she met Jack Seals in 2009 at a Senior Center Dance and they were married November 8, 2009.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and loved everybody. She enjoyed connecting with people from all over using her HAM radio. Her call sign was “WA5STG,” which stood for ‘sweet talking girl.’ When Norma had quiet time, she would crochet or knit, but the extrovert that she was remained active until she was almost 90 and could be found more often dancing or leading her exercise classes. She was the oldest in the class and her younger students would have quite a time keeping up.
Norma is survived by her son, Bill Bentley; daughters, Sandra Elliott and Rebecca Wright and husband David Wright; daughter-in-law, Debbie Bentley (who was more like a daughter to Norma); stepsons, Brian Seals and Alan Seals; ten grandchildren, William Howard, Elmer Howard Jr, Norma Dominey, Lane Bentley, Audie Dixon, Donnie Bentley, Carolyn Bentley, Lee Shipp, Christine Carter; 14 great grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Swatches.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Bentley and Jack Seals; parents, Willie and Emma Hamilton; brother, Junior Hamilton; sisters, Wanda Dukes and Jean Pelton; granddaughter, Rachel Scott; and her beloved pet, Peebo.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 4-8 PM at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, August 26, 2024 at 2 PM at Ellis Funeral Home followed by interment at Resthaven Memorial Park North. Honorary pallbearers are Elmer Howard Jr, Donnie Bentley and Lee Shipp.
