

Maxine was born in Burkburnett, Texas to Alvin Harold Saxton and Letha (Twigg) Saxton on April 16, 1928. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Midland, Texas. She was an active docent at the Scarborough Lineberry House since the passing of her husband. She enjoyed her involvement in the House functions and loved her “ladies”. Maxine was a survivor of the New London School Explosion of 1937 and traveled yearly to the reunion to meet and reminisce with friends and other survivors. She enjoyed working as a receptionist for Dr. Hundley of Fort Stockton for 15 years. She was a proud supporter of the West Texas Boys’ Ranch in San Angelo. Maxine was a long time resident of Midland, calling it her home for the past 25 years. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; as well as her beloved husband, Joe Winegeart.
Survivors include her son Michael Winegeart of Alpine, Texas; her daughter, Sharon Buck, and husband, Tom, of Midland, Texas; and daughter, Leesa Granado, and husband, Joe, of Fort Stockton, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren, Karen Sullivan of Midland, Texas; Aric Outlaw of Portland, Oregon; Angela Lujan, Joe Daniel and Alaina Granado of Fort Stockton, Texas; Clayton Winegeart of San Antonio, Texas; and Johnathan Winegeart of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Robert and Colin Sullivan of Midland, Texas; Ali, Avan, Angel Lujan of Fort Stockton, Texas; Wesley and Chloe Winegeart of Austin, Texas. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Ellis Funeral Home at 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Services will take place on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 4:00pm at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel.
