Mary Young Tippens, 83, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She was born in Ranger, Texas on July 22, 1928. Mary was the daughter of Reverend Joseph Young and Erma King Young. Mrs. Tippens was educated in Wink and Stanton, Texas. She moved to Midland in 1956 from Stanton. Mrs. Tippens was employed by Ben and Mary Harwit for nearly 30 years. Mary retired from the City of Midland. She earned her realtors license in the early sixties. She loved to renovate and sell older homes.
Mrs. Tippens was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Joseph and Erma King Young; and her children, Clairece Brown in 1969, William Brunson in 2004, and Henry Brunson in 2009.
Mrs. Tippens or “Aunt Molly” is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Oasea M. Williams of Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Ann Brown-Patrick and her husband, Robert, of Irving, Texas; one son, Mr. Freddie L. Brown of San Antonio, Texas; her loving sister, Mrs. Winnett Brown and husband, Nathaniel, of Stanton, Texas; and her dear baby brother, David Young of Big, Spring, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many close friends.
Family will welcome friends on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m.
