She was born May 12, 1940, in East Bernard, Texas to Mary Bilicek Vacek and Joe E Vacek. She was raised on a cotton farm 3 miles West of East Bernard. She graduated in 1958 from East Bernard High School and went to work at Security Bank & Trust in Wharton.
She married August (Augie) R Macha on Nov 8, 1958, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with a reception at Riverside Hall. They moved to Houston as newlyweds where she started her studies at Durham Business College and started their family. They moved to Corpus Christi in 1967, where she continued her studies at Durham Business College then moved on to Midland in 1969.
Over the years she worked in accounting, tax preparation, and bookkeeping with several firms including R W Landenburger, Petroleum Geologist, and Wurster, Armstrong, and Williamson PC CPA's, and subsequently as an independent bookkeeper.
She was a Cub Scout and Webelos den mother in the early 1970’s as well as a pink lady hospital volunteer at Midland Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed bowling and square dancing. She and Augie started their square dancing in 1976 and enjoyed dancing and traveling with the many friends they made with the Midland Grand Squares Club.
She loved the many Brittany Spaniels that she had over the years.
She is survived by her son Greg and wife Melody Macha of Palo Pinto, Texas, and son Dr. Douglas Macha and his wife Dr. Patricia Macha, and her precious grandchildren Ethan and Sydney of Tyler, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband August, and son Chris. She was also preceded by infant sister Mary, sister Lillian Brod, brother George Vacek and brother Jim Vacek.
The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at both Azalea Place and Reunion Plaza in Tyler. She made many friends there.
