Margaret Jean Pierce passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at Midland Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Midland, she spent the last three years at The Village at Manor Park. Jean was born June 11, 1922 in Munday, TX to Posey and Roxy Williams. She was raised and educated in Munday, TX. While attending Texas State Women’s College in Denton, TX, she met Joe Bill Pierce, a strapping senior at Texas A&M, and he was truly the love of her life. They were married from October 1942 until his death in 2000. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church, where she was an active member in the women’s fellowship and sang in the choir. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Midland Memorial Hospital. Her other interests included various bridge, book and flower clubs. Jean loved to travel and loved to entertain in her home. Her happiest times were in the middle of her family laughing, singing and dancing. Jean is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 58 years, Joe Bill Pierce; grandson, Mark Wade Choate III; her parents, and siblings; Jack Williams, Rupert Williams and June Kane. She is survived by daughter, Cindy Choate and husband Mark of Palos Verdes Estates, CA; son, John Pierce of Midland, TX; grandchildren, Courtney Knapp and husband Mike of Valencia, CA; Kaysie Fitzpatrick and husband Gary of Coto de Caza, CA; Morgan Pierce of Midland, TX; Jarrett Pierce and wife Jessica of Houston, TX; Kyle Pierce and fiancée Caitlin Egan of Midland, TX; great-grandchildren, Michael and Hayley Knapp, Mark and Erin Fitzpatrick, all of California; sister, Charlotte Willson and husband, Perry of Dallas, TX; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews of California and Texas.
