A lifelong athlete, Lezlie enjoyed cheerleading, volleyball, softball, and golf. Some of her best relationships stemmed from playing with the people she met in her hometown of Midland. She was extremely competitive; so, you were glad to be a friend or family member when it was time to take the field, and none were happier to be her friend than the man who eventually became the love of her life, the late Ken Carter. They married in 1995 and built a fun, loving life together.
Many friends and acquaintances will remember Lezlie for her work in the used car business. She loved working with her father at Ray’s Auto in Midland and eventually took the helm after his retirement. More recently, she will be remembered for her contribution to the team at K&D Truck Sales of Odessa, Texas. She was a mainstay of the operation, and you didn’t do business with the company without going through Lezlie.
Above all, her passions lay with her family. As competitive as she was on the field, she had a “mama bear” personality when it came to caring for her children, stepchildren, and grandchildren. Known as Gran, she adored her grandchildren and enjoyed being with them as often as possible. From family vacations, to time spent at Colorado City lake, time spent with her loved ones were her favorite.
Lezlie is survived by her daughter, Nadalee Venters and husband, Logan of Corpus Christi, Texas; stepdaughters, Kristen Brockman and husband, Landon of Christoval, Texas, Kasie Lunson and husband, Scott of Midland, Texas; brothers, Barron Frith and wife, Cindy of Houston, Texas, David Brand and wife, Pamela of Munday, Texas; grandchildren Brody and Harley Venters, Quinn Brockman, Ryann Stroud; nieces Ashley Roose and Shannon Weaver, and nephew, Patrick Frith. Also left to fondly remember Lezlie, are her two dearest friends, Ann Speck, and Brenda Melcher.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth L. Carter of Midland, mother, Patricia Frith and father, Ray Frith, both of Midland.
