Kevin was born on January 14, 1960, in Midland, Texas to Lee Roy and Clara Joyce Woodard.
Kevin attended Midland public schools and graduated in 1978 from Midland Lee High School. He was a charter member of the Golf Course Road Church of Christ where he participated in many youth activities and made lifelong friends.
Kevin attended Abilene Christian University and Texas Tech University where he pursued his interests in engineering, art, and the Bible. Of these interests, his creative side won and he pursued art for the rest of his life. Kevin was an avid artist whose paintings adorn the walls of his entire family. He had an eye to see beauty in the ordinary and the uncommon in the common. This is depicted in his paintings, which include: landscapes, abstracts, and surrealisms.
He enjoyed family and special times, especially spending time with his three nieces and one nephew. Always a practical joker, Kevin made them laugh and created many special memories for them.
Kevin was an entrepreneur at heart and started a business which led him from Midland to San Antonio, Memphis, Atlanta and ultimately Bay Harbor Island, Florida. Kevin was a leader and a real friend to his employees. Many of his enduring friendships are with those who worked with him and came to admire him for his decency and concern for them.
Kevin leaves behind many friends from all the places he has lived, all of whom were touched by his warm smile, practical jokes, and deep sense of friendship.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy Woodard. He is survived by his mother, Clara Joyce Woodard and his two sisters, Jana Sanders and her husband Donny, and Tammy Carhart and her husband Peter. He also leaves behind three much loved nieces, Melanie and Madison Carhart and Meredith Sanders, and a favorite nephew, Britton Sanders.
Most of all, Kevin will be remembered for his rich, full, and tender heart, and a life lived in a sweet and loving way.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Golf Course Road Church of Christ, 3500 Golf Course Road, Midland, Texas.
