Jose “El Feina” Fernando Barraza, 60, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was born May 30, 1958 in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Bernardo and Maria Del Refugio (Ramirez) Barraza.
He lived to help others. El Feina would give you the shirt off his back to help his fellow friend, neighbor, family, or anyone who was in need. His pride and joy, aside from his children, were his four grandchildren whom he loved beyond anything.
El Feina is survived by his wife, Alicia Barraza of Midland; daughters, Lupita Barraza and husband Jorge Vargas, Sr. of Fort Worth, and Claudia Barraza and husband Alejandro Barrientos of Midland; sons, SSG Raul Fernando Barraza of Fort Riley, KS, and Guillermo Barraza of Denton; grandchildren, Yadira Nevaeh Hinojosa, Yuritzi Concepcion Hinojosa, Geovanni Jose-Juan Hinojosa, and Ignacio Rey Hinojosa; brothers and sisters of Juarez, Mexico, El Paso, and Austin, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Yuritzi Concepcion Hinojosa; siblings, Oscar Barraza, Bernardo Barraza, Hector Barraza and Martha Garcia; and in-laws, Eugenio Arellano, Sr. and Concepcion Martinez Arellano.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 1 – 9 PM and Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 8 AM – 9 PM at Ellis Funeral Home, with the Rosary being recited Sunday evening at 7 PM. A funeral mass will be Monday, May 20, 2019 at 2 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Raul Fernando Barraza, Guillermo Barraza, Alejandro Barrientos, Angel Serrano, Fabian Serrano, and Enrique Barraza will serve as pallbearers.
