John Wade Calhoun

John was welcomed into this world on June 28, 1938, by his loving parents Wade and Viola Calhoun in Pocahontas, Arkansas. John graduated from McKinley High in Canton, Ohio. He joined the United States Air Force in 1960 and served for 20 years attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He then worked as a machinist until his retirement.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, but most of all he loved his Lord Jesus Christ.

John is preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Calhoun, his parents Wade and Viola Calhoun, one son, three sisters, one brother, and several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife Syndi Calhoun, sisters-Lou Don Gallegos (Colorado Springs, Co), LeeDale Sullivan (North Canton, OH), children-Lori McDougle (Midland, TX), Susan Brantley and husband Robert (Whitney, TX), Tammy Calhoun (Midland, TX), Deborah Ford (Amarillo, TX), Misty Strickland (Midland, TX), Brenda Brittian and husband Bill (Midland, TX), Jason Reed and wife Hope (Albuquerque, NM), Brian Calhoun (Midland, TX), his spiritual daughter Cristina Baeza (Odessa, TX), 28 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A public visitation for John will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Ellis Funeral Home, 4616 N Big Spring Street. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 6, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Ellis Funeral Home's chapel followed by interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.
