Joe Cates

At 17, Joe met the love of his life, Janice. They were married in 1962 and later had two daughters, Tamara and Carmon. Like his father before him, Joe made a living pulling oil out of the ground and retired after 50 years of working in the oil field. Joe was good at what he did, but what he truly enjoyed was his time with his family. Joe passed away at his home in Round Rock, TX on December 20th 2018, surrounded by family.

Joe is preceded in death by his wife Janice, his sister Mary, his brother Dale, and his granddaughter Bailey. Joe is survived by his sister Sandra, his daughters Tamara and Carmon, his grandchildren Taber, Katelyn and Braden and his great grandchildren Morgan and Jack.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Ellis Funeral Home 801 Andrews Highway, Midland, Texas. Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 9:30a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park 4616 N. Big Springs Midland, Texas with Dr. Jimmy Braswell, officiating.
