Joe R. Casas, 84 years old, of Midland, Texas, went to His heavenly home on January 29, 2016 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his wife and children and his firm belief in God supported him in his life and ultimately gave him peace. Joe was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ on October 25, 2013.
Joe was born in Fort Stockton, Texas on January 8, 1932, to Fermin & Candida Casas. After a tour in the Korean conflict, where he was honorably discharged, he then attended a technical college in Laredo, TX to obtain electrical certifications. He worked as an electrician for over 29 years before he retired.
Joe was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Catarina on December 27, 1970 in Fort Stockton, TX and remained married for 45 years, until his departure. He was kind, loving, and was known for his smile and humorous personality. Joe was a Loving Husband and Father and will be missed dearly by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace and with Jesus Christ his Savior.
Joe leaves behind his loving wife Catarina Casas, Children; Velma Casas, Josephine Gonzales, Joe Angel Casas, Jimmy Gonzales and wife Carmen, Luis Casas and wife Romie, Armando Casas and wife Patricia, Adan Casas and wife Irma, Adela Sotelo and Husband Oscar, Gloria Belmarez and husband Hector, Jo Ann Arreola and husband Omar, and Abigail Ramirez and husband Steven, 41 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, Sister Margaret Dominguez, brother Jimmy Casas.
Joe was preceded in death by his Parents, Fermin and Candida Casas, Brothers, Johnny Casas, Frank Casas, Desmo Casas, Adolfo Casas, Antonio Casas, Paul Casas, Albert Casas, and Sisters Adela Munoz, Anita Pacheco and Maria Velasquez.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 1, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Cornerstone Fellowship. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 2, 2016 at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship with Pastor Bill Foster officiating, burial will follow.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers as well as Hospice of Midland for their excellent care.
