Jerry "Daddy" Lee Hodge

Jerry “Daddy” Lee Hodge passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born September 17, 1938 in Sidney, Ohio to Harold and Polly Hodge. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 11, 1957 and was discharged in 1959. Jerry married the love of his life, Helen Hollingsworth, on June 2, 1962. You never saw one without the other. Together they had four children, sons Kelly and Charles, daughters, Shawna and Katy. He loved airplanes, and volunteered at CAF. He also collected guns, coins and stamps. He was loved by everyone who met him. He always had a smile on his face. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Polly Hodge and brother, Jack Hodge. Jerry is survived by his wife of fifty years, Helen Hodge of Midland; son, Kelly Hodge of Midland; son, Charles Day and wife Helen of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Shawna Glosson and husband Stoney of Midland; daughter, Katy McKinney and husband Randy of Big Spring, TX; brother, Rob Westan and wife Jamie of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Dalton Slough, Dustin Slough, Solon Glosson, Colton Glosson, Summer Glosson, Shawn Day, Becky Cook; Ashley Hodge Compton and Kensey Hodge;great-grandchild, Kash Compton. Special thanks to Dr. Vogel and his staff and Home Hospice for taking wonderful care of our Daddy. He was the best Husband, Daddy, Paw Paw, brother and friend that anyone could ask for. We miss you and love you Daddy! The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Ellis Funeral Home between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Jerry’s graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery with Larry Hood officiating. Pallbearers will be Dalton Slough, Solon Glosson, Charles Day, Terry Kite, Bobby Phelps and Dale Glosson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Slough and Colton Glosson.
