Herschel Lee Presley went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 11, 2021 (unrelated to COVID). He was 82 years old. Herschel was born in Abilene, TX to Winfred and Emma (Whitfield) Presley and moved to Midland at an early age where he lived most of his life. He was a graduate of Midland High School and it was there that he met his soulmate, Jerry Faye Parr, who preceded him in death. They married and raised 4 children: David, Chris, Becky and Melanie. Herschel had a long career with the US Postal Service, spending 10 years as a letter carrier and the remainder of his 35 years as a maintenance mechanic.
He is survived by his sister, LaVerne McCartney, his 4 children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren and 2 (almost 3) great grandchildren. Herschel had a gentle spirit and a forgiving nature. He will be sorely missed.
Graveside services will be held at Resthaven North Cemetery in Midland, TX, on Friday, January 22nd at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity in Herschel’s name.
