Harvey Leon Henderson

Harvey Leon Henderson, 74, of Midland passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 5th, 1938 in Merkel Texas to Fay Henderson and James Henderson. Harvey and his wife are the owner’s of “The Back Door Catering Service” in Midland for almost 40 years. He served in the United States Navy and was a lifelong resident of Midland. Harvey was a jack of all trades. Cooking, snake hunting and automobile restoration were just a few of his hobbies, but his greatest joy was his time spent with his dog Harley. He will be deeply missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Fay Henderson.

He is survived by his father, James Henderson; his wife of 45 years, Elvira (Vera) Henderson; two nephews as his sons, Celestion (Tino) Pena and Elborio (Libby) Pena, Marleri and three grandchildren all of Midland.

Viewing will be held at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland on Thursday, May 16th, 2013 from 6-8pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm. Services are scheduled for Friday, May 17th, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
