Our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Glenda Madie Cumbest, known by all as MeMe, has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior. Glenda was a member of Christ Church Anglican and was a colon and oral cancer survivor. She was loved by many and loved all that she came into contact with.
Glenda was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on June 14, 1942. Glenda was a homemaker and devoted wife who raised 3 children.
Glenda is survived by her son Joseph Cumbest Jr. and his wife Katrina of Midland, and their children Cydney Adams and her husband Josh Adams of Shawnee, Kansas, with their two children, Blakely and Brayden and Joseph III (Trey) and his wife Gabrielle (Gabby) and their daughter Aurora Grace of Amarillo, Texas. Her son, James. Her daughter Melissa and her husband Chris Dekeratry of Round Rock, Texas, and their two children, Lindsay Koster and her husband Daylon Koster and their daughter Danielle Lynn of Round Rock, Texas, and Meredith Robison, her husband Landry and their son Levi Christopher of Round Rock, Texas.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cumbest Sr, her granddaughter, Erin Michelle Cumbest, her brother, Laurie Batten, and her sister, Patsy Group.
Graveside inurnment will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4616 N Big Spring St in Midland. A memorial service for Glenda will follow at 2:00 PM at Christ Church Anglican, 5501 N Midkiff Rd in Midland.
