She attended Midland High and later received her GED. Sally married Franklin D. Castleberry, Sr on November 8, 1953. They were married for 54 years until he passed away.
Sally enjoyed a variety of jobs. She worked as a school bus driver, day care and as a security guard. Her hobbies included sewing, horses, bowling and reading books. She enjoyed seeing Elvis live in concert and time on the lake. Sally loved her family and cherished every moment with them, especially watching the grandkids play sports and Boy Scouts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Castleberry Sr; parents, Claude and Elizabeth Wilson; and two brothers, E. L. Wilson and Bobby Wilson.
Sally is survived by her six children, Claude (Lee) Castleberry, John & Gloria Castleberry, Jim Bob & Kim Castleberry, Frank Jr & Cindy Castleberry, Becky & David Giacobbe and DeeDee Castleberry & Bill Houston; one sister-in-law; 17 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Ellis Funeral Home followed by interment at Resthaven Memorial Park. John Norman Castleberry, Frank Castleberry, Jr., David Giacobbe, Bill Houston, Sid Moore and Jason Castleberry will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Dub J. Castleberry, Cameron Giacobbe, Keaton Giacobbe, Christa Petronella, Cheyenne Castleberry and Talee Moore.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Midland Medical Lodge, 3000 Mockingbird Lane, Midland 79705 or the Boy Scouts, 10 Desta Drive, Suite 170LL, Midland 79705.
