Eleanor Joyce Robertson, 93, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 27th, 2019. Eleanor was born in Seagraves, Texas on November 15, 1925 to Elmer and Faye Smith. She graduated from Seagraves High School.
Eleanor was a well-known landscape artist, and won many awards throughout her career. She attended Midland College and was a member of the Palette Club of Midland and the Watercolor Society. She studied painting under Ann Templeton, Howard Carr, Warren Taylor, and others. Through her faithful dedication to her art, Eleanor developed a style of her own, a combination of the old masters and the new Southwest artists. Eleanor’s work was represented by Adobe Gallery in Ruidoso, New Mexico as well as many other retail businesses.
Eleanor is preceded in death by Elmer and Faye Smith (Parents), Billy Mack Danley (Husband), Lloyd Robertson (Husband), Ralph Arnett (Longtime Friend) and Gloria Wagner (Sister). Eleanor is survived by her four children, Sheila Danley, B. Craig Robertson, Cathy Calhoun and Bradley Robertson. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
Eleanor blessed us all with her love, her smile, her beauty, her intelligence and a great attitude. She was the essence of great character. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Friday, February 1st, 2019 from 7pm until 9pm.
A memorial service to celebrate Eleanor’s life will be the following day Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 at 2pm.
Both services will be held at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Hwy, Midland, Texas 79701.
