Diane K. Montez passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010. She was born June 19, 1955 in Midland, Texas to Salome and Emma Montez. She was one of five children. Diane resided most of her life with the MHMR State School of Abilene, Texas. Although mentally disadvantaged, Diane managed to elude her disability and function as a family member for 44 years by much given help from the love of administration and staff support. Her secret of longevity was being a child of God. She will be exceptionally missed and along with her smile that was left embedded in our minds and hearts – her signature of goodbye. She is survived by brothers, Tony Montez, Richard Montez and Edward Montez; sister, Ima Bernal. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under Ellis Funeral Home.
