Darrell E. Smith

He was a US Navy Veteran, serving near the end of WWII.

He was born May 16, 1926 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Heber D. & Hazel Hale Smith.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Donna N. Smith and his two brothers Donald H. Smith and Stan G. Smith.

He is survived by his brother Edward F. (Ted) Smith of Salt Lake City, UT; his four children D. Craig Smith, Kirk E. Smith and wife Debbie Smith, Shelley F. Smith and husband Russell Erwin and Christine H. Vest and husband Steve Vest; grandchildren Ann Marie Smith, D. Bryan Smith, James G. Smith, Michael K. Smith, G. Ryan Peckham, S. Keith Vest and D. Nicole Simpson, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24th at Ellis Funeral Home. Burial and graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 25th at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Yolanda V. Jimenez for her many years of loving care and service to Darrell and his family.

In lieu of flowers, Darrell requested that that donations be made to “Hoops, Dreams, and Goals” in care of West Texas Centers, 409 Runnels, Big Spring, TX 79720.
