Clyde S. Smith, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Memorial services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Clyde was born in Roswell, NM in 1940 and has been a resident of Midland since 1976. He was a loving father and devoted husband. Clyde was a corporate pilot for many years and enjoyed flying airplanes. He also loved his many classic cars. His favorites were visiting swap meets and tinkering with his classic cars. Clyde is survived by his wife, Elvie Smith; two sons, Clyde J. Smith and Carlton D. Smith, both residing in the Austin area; brother, Glenn Smith, and many nieces and nephews who will all miss him.
