C. Terry Lyle

Clifford Terry Lyle went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Mr. Lyle was 62 years old. Terry was born at Price and Black Hospital in Lamesa, Texas on June 29, 1950 to Martha Louise Lyle and Clifford Thomas Lyle. He was the baby brother of Karolyn Rogers, Tom Wilmeth, Donna McLaren and Roger Lyle. Terry was a 1970 graduate of Midland High School and went on to attend Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas and Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He had a lifelong love for forestry and horticulture and followed the career of ranching and timber. Terry was a resident of both Dierks, Arkansas and Midland, Texas. His grandparents, Ethel and Tom Lyle and Amy and H.B. Wood, and his father, Clifford Thomas Lyle, preceded him in death. His mother, Martha Louise Lyle, Karolyn and Jerry Rogers, Mary Jane and Tom Wilmeth, Donna and Craig McLaren and Candy and Roger Lyle, survive him. He was very fond of his many nieces and nephews. He was an artist and friend to everyone. His family will be receiving visitors on Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., at Ellis Funeral Home. Condolences may be made at: www.ellisfunerals.com. Pallbearers will be his nieces’ spouses, Lee Wood, Ray Hayes and Bill Bryant, and his nephews, Steve Feris, David Lyle, Stephen Lyle and John Thomas Lyle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Midland, Midland Memorial Hospital Foundation or to a charity of choice.
