Betty Louise Goodwin Bollinger was born on October 10, 1933 and passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025. She was born in Alvord, Texas to Glen and Nellie Goodwin and lived there until she married Omer Lee (Bo) Bollinger on December 23, 1951. They later moved to Midland, Texas where they raised their family. They were charter members of Crestview Baptist Church and Betty remained a member of Crestview until her departure to her heavenly home. She enjoyed teaching children in Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, Sunbeams, and Training Union. She was never a member of the choir, but she loved to sing hymns. If you ever met her, most likely one of her first questions for you would be, “Do you know my Jesus?” She loved Jesus and the joy He brought her, and wanted everyone to know how much He loved them, and the high price HE had paid for their sins.
Betty loved to sew, crochet, and craft. She helped her husband “ Bo” (Omer Lee Bollinger) begin a company that they named “Bo’s R.V.” and worked alongside of him until he passed away in 1984. She later married Roy Clinton and they had a few years of a sweet marriage before he passed. She moved to Fredericksburg, Texas in 2019 for a new adventure and made more precious friends at Heritage Place Assisted Living. She was so excited about her 90th birthday party that she talked about it almost daily for the last few weeks leading up to the big event. Afterwards she recalled the fun of seeing so many of her family members. When asked a few weeks before she passed, what was her favorite thing in her life, she quickly replied, being a mother to our three children. She was an incredible mother to her children.
“Her children arise and call her blessed….Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:28a, 30-31
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Glen & Nellie Goodwin, husbands Omer Lee (Bo) Bollinger, and Roy Clinton. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Don & Cathy Carruth, Ronnie & Teri Bollinger, Donnie & Julie Bollinger. Her grandchildren, Kirk & Leslie Dunn, Melissa Carruth, Jason & April Conner, Clayton & Christy Drescher, Brad & Jennifer Bollinger, David and Courtney Sutton, Brady & Jessica Bollinger, Samuel & Jessica Bollinger, Amy Beauchamp, & Kimberly Bollinger. She had 25 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren. She also, leaves her two brothers and their wives, David & Linda Goodwin, and Eddie & Glenda Goodwin of Alvord, TX. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews. Betty loved each one dearly.
If she could say one more thing to anyone reading this, it would be, “Do you know my Jesus?” She is with him today in heaven and we rejoice and have great comfort in knowing that. It was her prayer that everyone would know the love of Christ as she did. John 3:16–18
Thank you to all her family and friends that made an extra effort to come see her in those last days of her earthly life. That meant the world to her and us.
