About 1940 they moved to Dawson County. While attending high school in Lamesa, Texas, her father signed paperwork to allow her to go to work for General Telephone. Bea graduated in 1952. On July 19, 1949, she gave her life to Jesus and continued to be a faithful and loving servant for the Lord the remainder of her life. In 1962, she met and married her soul mate, Wayne Cornett. They lived in Lamesa, Seminole, Brownfield, Seagraves and moved to Midland in 1987. That same year Bea retired after 35 years with GTE. In Midland she put her love for the Lord and her skills to use as secretary at Fairmont Park Church of Christ for many years. Bea loved to sew and make dresses for her daughters-in-law and granddaughters. Bea and Wayne also loved to travel and visited nearly every Texas state park and made several camper trips to the New Mexico and Colorado mountains with their traveling friends. She liked playing games with family and friends. Bea also loved butterflies & hummingbirds.

Bea is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Leasel Seay and a sister Leasel Carlene Seay. Those left to cherish her precious memory are her husband Wayne Cornett of Midland, sons Craig Cornett (Jan) of Brownfield and Roger Cornett (Sissy) of Greenwood. Grandchildren Natasha Campbell (Paul) of Lubbock, Evan Cornett (Rachel) of Brownfield, Zachary Cornett (Karen) of Greenwood and Kayla Robinson (Justin) of Midland. Seven great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fairmont Park Church of Christ on Tuesday, April 22nd at 2:00 pm followed by committal at Resthaven Memorial Park.
