Dean spent most of her life taking care of others, she was a cafeteria lunch lady and ran an in-home childcare center for over 35 years. She was a faithful member of Calvary Assembly of God Church for more than 40 years; in the church community she was a valued member of Calvary Women’s Ministry and the Energizers.
In her spare time Dean mastered the art of crochet, she crocheted many quilts that were auctioned off for a variety of fundraisers, she was also well known and loved by her friends and family for her famous “Dirt Cake.”
She is preceded in death by her mother Ozena Newton, stepfather C.T. Newton, two sisters Wanda Faye and Charlene and Albert Williams, a half-brother Donald Newton and his wife Jackie Newton.
She is survived by nieces Oneta, Dorris,Kathy, Chris, Alex, Anna, and Jeremiah all of Midland, nephew Keith Williams Seagraves, grandnephews and grandnieces Drew Williams of Lubbock, Dawn, Brandon, Landon, Alora, and Gimma of Midland as well as her kids and grandkids of Amarillo as well as many cousins.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 3:00 -7:00 pm at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 17th at 11:00 am at Calvary Assembly of God church in Midland. Graveside services will follow on Tuesday, February 18th at 11:00 am at Tahoka Cemetery in Tahoka, TX. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
