Thomas R. Hatton, age 84, of Middletown, Ohio passed away the evening of May 29, 2024. His wife and daughter were by his side along with family, friends and an the incredible Hospice of Middletown Care Team.
Tom was born January 27, 1940 in Middletown, Ohio to parents John R. and Ila Hatton.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie E. Hatton, his daughter Susie and Son-In-law Brad, along with his sister Joyce Francis, brothers Donnie and wife Janet Hatton, Jerry and wife Cathy Hatton, James and wife Patty Hatton and sister-in-law Karen Hatton, and his many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents John and Ila Hatton, sister Dottie Shockey, brother Johnny Hatton and brother-in-law Earl Francis.
Tom graduated from Middletown High School, Class of ’58, attended Miami University along with extensive continuing education in real estate and became one of Middletown’s leading real estate brokers, owning his own company, Thomas R. Hatton Real Estate.
He found purpose and passion in his career, and it showed in every listing and sale, all of which resulted in new friendships and lifelong connections.
After a successful 30 years in Middletown, he and his wife moved to Marco Island and Naples where he continued to excel in real estate for 10 years then on to Santa Monica, California for family and adventure eventually returning to Middletown to retire.
During his life he attended First Methodist Church, belonged to National Association of Realtors, Ohio and Florida Association of Realtors, Shriners of Middletown and Dayton, and the Masons Jefferson Lodge #90, JC’s and Wildwood Golf Club.
Anyone who knew Tom, knew he loved his family and puppy Miley. His love of music followed him everywhere. He enjoyed golf, tennis, traveling, fine dining, old friends and meeting new. He never met a stranger and opened his heart and home to all. Tom will be remembered for his quick wit, generosity, compassion and love of his family and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 2pm at Woodside Cemetery (Section 10, see map on online obituary www.breitenbach-anderson.com), 1401 Woodside Boulevard, Middletown, Ohio 45044. Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home are handling arrangements.
