Kyla Mae Ely Robertson

Kyla Mae Ely Robertson was born May 19, 1935 in Smith, Kentucky. She died peacefully April 10, 2025 in Berea, Ohio where she resided with her daughter Eva. Kyla loved the Lord and was known as a mighty prayer warrior. Her heart's desire was to lead others to Christ and she continually lifted up family and friends to the Lord. She enjoyed reading, sewing, singing, playing Aggravation and Scrabble, and spoiling her grand-dog Scarlett.

The eldest child of Oscar and Rosie, she watched over and cared for her five siblings as they grew up in the mountains of Virginia. Her love and devotion for her sister and brothers continued throughout her entire life.

Kyla was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a good neighbor and a caring friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Oscar and Rosie Ellen Montgomery Ely, baby daughter Vera E. Stapleton, brothers Bill E. Ely, James O. Ely, and Terry A. Ely, second husband Mervin E. Robertson, and son-in-law David W. Cole.

She is survived by daughters Vicky S. Rains (Stephen), Eva J. Cole, step-daughter Yvonne Craycraft (Kenneth), granddaughters Heather S. Hitte, Sarah E. Rains, Angi L. Fischer (Tim), Susan Craycraft, Sara Craycraft, grandson D. Michael Cole (Robin), great grandsons Jameson A. Hitte and Jaxson T. Hitte, sister Betty J. Swanson (Buck), brother G. Alfred Ely, and many dearly loved and deeply cherished nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends MONDAY (April 14, 2025) 5-7 PM at the A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY RD., MIDDLEBURG HTS., OH (WEST OF I-71).

Services will continue WEDNESDAY (April 16, 2025) 11 AM - 12 NOON at the Woodside Chapel, Middletown, Ohio with interment immediately following.
