John L. Murphy

John liked to fish, go to flea markets and travel. He enjoyed country music and dancing. Most of all he loved his family. John is a veteran of the United States Navy.

John is preceded in death by his parents; son, Kelly Murphy; stepson, Michael David Cecil; and sister, Jeannine VanNote.

John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jan (Kwiatkowski) Murphy; sons, John Prentice Murphy and Michael Scott Murphy; stepsons, Paul Cecil, Robert Cecil, Jody (Wanda) Cecil and Jason (Angela) Cecil; daughters, Christina Murphy, Angela Murphy and Bobbie Lee Murphy; 25 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Pete Murphy; sister, Mona Gilbert; and sister-in-law, Shirley Gignac.

A visitation will be held 10 am- 12 pm, Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home 517 South Sutphin St., Middletown, Ohio 45044. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at St. John's Catholic Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown, OH 45044 with Father John Civille as celebrant.

Burial will be at Dayton National Cemetery.
