She was married in 1943 to the late Hayward Bryant. They lived most of their married lives in Middletown, and in their later years, they divided their time between Port Charlotte, FL and Middletown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Elsie VanCleve, her brother, Linville McFarland, her half-brother, David Powell, and two half-sisters, Bobbie Caron and Ruth Howard.
She is survived by four children: Gloria Sexton (Larry) of Colorado, Larry Bryant (Marie) of Centerville, Karla Morrow (Phillip) of Colorado, and Les Bryant (Beverly) of Miamisburg, as well as sisters Christina Adkins and Cheryl Jackson. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Deidre Sexton, David Sexton, Angela Schroeder, Craig Bryant, Chad Miller, Brian Miller, Nick Bryant, Kole Grossnickle, Kaylee Grossnickle, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Clara and her husband began square dancing in 1976, and through that activity, traveled extensively and made many life-long friendships. Clara was an accomplished quilter, making hand-made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren upon their graduations or weddings. She was immensely proud of her children and once said that they were her proudest accomplishment.
Visitation on Monday, July 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Funeral at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16 at Breitenbach-Anderson Funeral Home, 517 S. Sutphin Street, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Middletown.
