Paul E Moorhead

Devoted husband of the late Nora (nee McDaniel), loving father of Mark (deceased), Myron and Celia, dear brother of the following deceased Sylvester (Kay, deceased) Moorhead, Ray (Betty, deceased) Moorhead, and Annabelle (Bayne, deceased) Snyder, and dear uncle and friend of many.

In 1943, he enlisted in the Army to fight in WWII and served as a Medic in Marseille, France. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and enrolled in the Colorado School of Mines to study Metallurgical Engineering and graduated in 1950. He took a job with Battelle Labs in Columbus, OH where he met Norabelle McDaniel at a church social. They were married on Sept 11, 1953 and were never apart, except for infrequent hospital stays. He was a devoted father to his three children, always present for Boy Scout outings and his kids' sports events. Paul selflessly volunteered for the Cleveland Community Food Cupboard and supported the Cleveland City Mission.

Paul worked for NASA Lewis Research Center in Cleveland Ohio for 25 years and retired in 1987. He worked on a number of government projects from rocket boosters to materials for the space shuttle heat shield panels. Paul and Nora were active in their retirement with travel and staying involved in their community. They enjoyed attending classes at Institute for Retired Learning at Baldwin Wallace College. They traveled to Tunisia, the Bahamas, Ireland, England and Germany. Paul was a devout Baptist all his life serving his church as a deacon, trustee and Sunday School superintendent. He loved singing in the church choir and singing solos for Sunday worship. He entered Heaven surrounded by his children and listening to comforting church hymns.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 10 until 12 Noon at Craciun Funeral Home 14925 E. Bagley Rd. Middleburg Hts. Ohio 44130, where service will be held Wednesday 12 Noon.

Committal Services with Military Honors will be held at Woodvale Cemetery.
