Sara Evelyn Hook Cartledge, age 82, (Salli) went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 16, 2021 in Middleburg, Florida. Sara was born on October 23, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Milwaukee County School of Nursing in 1959. Her motivation in life was to help others. She worked as a registered nurse in Kennewick, Wa., where she met and married G. Michael Oswald. She then moved and worked as a RN in St. Louis, MI, as well in San Juan, Puerto Rico then finally in North Miami, FL where she eventually retired.
Now widowed by Robert Cartledge, Salli followed her daughter and grandson to Green Cove Springs in 2003. Salli was an active member of Lake Asbury Baptist Church for over 18 years. Salli was also a member of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution- Sophia Fleming Chapter, Orange Park, Florida.
Sara (Salli) is survived by her daughter, Melanie S Oswald; grandson, Adam K Oswald; and her sister, Susan Hook Czarnocki.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Asbury Baptist Church. Her final resting place will be in Dunedin Municipal Cemetery along with her maternal grandparents
(Baum) and parents Fred and Amy Hook.
