Rose R. Gill

Rose was born on November 24,1941 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Frances and David Hood. She was raised by her mother Frances and stepfather Cecil Strickland.

On December 3, 1956 she married the late Curtis Gill and together they raised 5 wonderful children. Rose professed her life to Christ at an early age and lived her life as a devoted Christian. She loved working in the church nursery and enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent's Medical Center as well as local schools. She had a heart of gold and loved to share her love with others. Her unwavering and unconditional love will be remembered by all who knew her. Rose enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, reading her Bible and praying for others. She was a loving and caring person, a devoted wife, mama, Nana, and friend. Always thinking of others first. "To know her was to love her."

Rose leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister Lena (Linda) Torres, Brother Ray Hood, daughters Ginny (Ed) Young and Carolyn Campono, son John (Ida) Gill, daughter in law Cindy Gill Peacock, grandsons Tommy (Amy) Hampton, Craig (Sunshine) Snipes, Curt (Bobbi) Gill, Corey (Shannon) Gill, Travis Bowman, David (Ginger) Burris, Joe (Julia) Campono, Daniel Burris, Mickey (Shelly) Clouser, Jason Gambill, Buddy (Colleen) Young, and Brandon (Christine) Young. Granddaughters Carrie (Frenchy) Chanudet, Mandy McNeil, Alexis (Brian) Edwards, Johana Burris and Tracy (Kelly) McVey. Great grandkids Aidan, Ashton, Alex, Austin, Ryan, Albrie, Zoe, Keegan, Liam, Cian, Orin, Nial, Jasper, Kevin, Alyssa, Trey, Buddy, Heartly, Violet, Scarlett, Kaitlyn, Gabi, Ethan, Bella, Bailey, Aiyana, Gianna, Alyssa, Kaleb, Kamden, Adalynn, and Ashleigh. Great Great Grandkids Raelynn, Brooklynn, and Gracelynn, as well as many other loved ones she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her parents David Hood and Frances and Cecil Strickland, sisters Pat Akromis and Kathy Endinger, Brothers Johnnie, David and Jimmy Hood, husband Curtis Gill, daughter Marie Burris, daughter-in-law Sheila Gill, son Lloyd Gill, grandsons Justin, Dustin and JC Gill and great great grandson Liam Burris.

Visitation will be Monday May 1, 2017 @ Black Pond Baptist church from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. Services will be held on Tuesday May 2, 2017 @11:00 a.m Graveside will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
