Robert “Bob” Eaton, 88, passed away May 23, 2018 after a struggle with cancer. He was born on August 3, 1929 in Spring Lake, New Jersey to Bruce and Helen (Eldracher) Eaton of Cape Breton, New Jersey. Bob resided in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He retired after 30 years working at United States Steel Company in Fairless Hills, PA. He lived a full life and enjoyed many different hobbies including flying airplanes, boating, scuba diving, camping, and traveling the United States. He also owned a stable in New Jersey where he raised various farm animals. In his later years, he was known for his wood working skills and made a variety of fine furniture. He loved his family and would come to their aid whenever they needed him. He was the man to go to if anything needed fixing. Bob is survived by his son; William Eaton, Green Cove Springs, son; James Eaton (Shevawn) of Green Bank, New Jersey, daughter; Patricia Chenoweth (Jim) of Valparaiso, Indiana, daughter; Nancy Rich (Jimmy) of Green Cove Springs, FL and son; Robert Eaton (Judy) of Gainesville, FL along with 17 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Eaton, who he was married to for 66 years. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS HOLLY HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3601 Old Jennings Road Middleburg, Florida 32068. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice of North East Florida Jacksonville, Florida.
