Mabel Strickland Lesley died peacefully in Fairfax County, Virginia on January 26, 2021 at the age of 98. Mabel is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Debbie Lesley, granddaughters Maggie Lesley [Andrew Remson], Rebecca Leonard [Keith Leonard], great-grandchildren Catherine, Luke and Grant Leonard and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Luke Lesley, and by her five brothers and one sister.
Mabel was born on October 3, 1922 in Grandin, Florida to Thomas Jackson Strickland and Maggie May Joyner. She was a long time resident of Middleburg, FL and active member of Middleburg United Methodist Church. She traveled extensively through Europe and Asia. Mabel loved mornings looking over her beloved Black Creek, reveled in hosting family events and could frequently be found on the dance floor.
