Lou moved his family to Florida in 1976 from Queens, NY. He worked as a carpet installer later opening his own flooring store. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He loved cruising and traveling. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and his game of choice was “craps” at the casino. He also loved reading murder mysteries and putting together his puzzles. At 7pm you could find him watching his favorite shows, Wheel of fortune and Jeopardy!
His greatest joy was being with his grandchildren. Which could include walking them around the block as toddlers in their red wagon, playing on the floor army men, watching Barney videos, and later on going to car shows, teaching Andrew how to play “21” going to the beach or just walking the dogs together. He also could be counted on for any and all renovation projects. He could do it all. Painting, flooring, backsplash, new bathroom, or kitchen. He wasn’t afraid to climb the ladder even when he got yelled at for doing so!
He is preceded in death by his parents: William and Carmella Verdi, sister; Marie Mendola, brother; Ciro Verdi, grandson; Mathew Verdi, sons; John Verdi and Louis Verdi, and survived by… His Loving wife of 57 years Frances Verdi, children; Christina Barea (Edwin Barea), Joseph Verdi (Jennifer Verdi), Christina Verdi, Crissie Mudge and grandchildren; Nicholas Verdi, Kristopher Barea, Gianna Verdi, Joseph Verdi Jr., Andrew Barea, Vinney Verdi. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and many many cousins.
