at 12:40 p.m. Linda was born December 2, 1948. A 1968 graduate of Southern High School in Louisville, Ky. She taught kindergarten prior to continuing her education and graduating from Jefferson State Vocational-Technical School as an LPN in 1976. She practiced in Louisville and Jacksonville until her retirement in 1996. Always a loving and caring individual she truly had a nurse’s heart for her patients and those around her.
She was a member of First Baptist Church Downtown for over 32 years, sang in the Chancel Choir for 25 years, and taught in the children's ministry, and afterwards attended West Jacksonville Baptist Church. She enjoyed Hymns/Southern Gospel Music for the message contained in the songs to reach people for Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents Henry Eugene and Mary Susan Morrison of Louisville, and 2 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Gary Wayne Parks, 2 sons, Steven D. and Christopher Darren Parks of Jacksonville,
Sister-in-Law Phyllis Gray of Corbin, KY, and many nieces, nephews and friends, all of which she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL 32068. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
