John is survived by his loving wife, Esmena O. Lyons; daughters: Jennifer Floyd and Heather Smith; Step-sons: Philip A Lyons III and John E. Lyons; grandchildren: Jade Smith, Alex Smith, Ryan Floyd, Brandon C. Lyons, Jack B. Lyons, Riley A. Lyons and Cadence C. Lyons; great grandchildren: Ellie Stansel, Everett Lyons and Violet Lyons; siblings: William C. Hoffman, James B. Hoffman and Jeannie M. Hoffman; and a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service for John will be held 10:30 AM, Friday, November 24, 2023 at Jacksonville National Cemetery (Lane 1 ), 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 with military honors.
