Jean Marie Quick, “Jeannie” to those who knew her, “Momma” or “Nanna” to most that loved her. The world was blessed with this straight forward woman born, 3/23/56. On Wednesday, 3/09/16, the Lord called her to be with her beloved family in Heaven. At this time she is enjoying holding her precious grandson William Clifton, while catching up with her mother Barbara Galloway. She is probably bickering with her siblings Donna Gay and Michael Hull just for old times sake. There is no doubt that she will continue to watch over and direct, in her own special way, her 30 year life partner and best friend John Quick. She along with her brother in-law Ken will continue to watch over her baby sister, Melanie Coughlin. While she called many her “kids” she was especially proud of the service of her son and daughter in-law Jon and Bobbie Quick. She was most influential in the life of her daughter Kathleen “K.T.” and son in-law, Eric Clifton. She said more than once her favorite thing on this earth was being a Nana to Devin Quick, Barbara, Everett and Noah Clifton.
Jeannie lived quit an exciting life and never had a dull moment. She worked three jobs as a single parent, while putting herself through nursing school. She worked as an Obstetrical Registered Nurse for 15 years before retiring and traveling these great United States with John. She was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved her OUTLAW family. She was well known to “sling a dart” and hustle some pool. Jeannie was also well known for her colorful vocabulary and sincerity. Nana may have also been the ultimate softball fan. She kept score for and helped manage “her boys” the Eagles. She also loved cheering on her all-time favorite ball player, Bobbi Boo.
For those that would like to partake in the celebration of Jeannie’s life there will be a party on March 26 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the memorial fund account found on gofund.me/nanarocks
