Harry Milton Bailey of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away on July 6, 2024. He was born in Rock, West Virginia to the late Maud Beulah (Wheeler) and Chester Allen Bailey on September 8, 1932. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Oma Lou Bailey as well as his daughter, Barbara Gay Early (Bob). Harry graduated from Matoaka High School in West Virginia and soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for four years during the Korean War. After his military service, he dedicated 37 years to the Civil Service working as an Electronics Foreman in Avionics for Naval Air Station Jacksonville until his retirement in 1989. In his free time, he had a passion for flying, fishing, and rebuilding cars. He is remembered fondly by his loved ones as a quiet, gentle, and loving man. Harry is survived by his daughter Anita Wynn (Scott); son Gary Bailey (Kristin); seven grandchildren, Katherine Jewell, Anita Conn, Heather Conn, Ashley Early, Andrew Bailey, Allan Bailey, and Lauren Wilson; five great-grandchildren, Ryan Jewell, Colton Conn, Johnathan Conn, Brenden Conn, and Jackson Conn; and a host of extended family and friends.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:00 am at Holly Hill Memorial Park located at 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL 32068 with Pastor Rick Crews officiating.
