Gerald Thomas Griffin

Gerry served as a Tugboat Captain in the Merchant Marines for numerous years. After leaving the Merchant Marines, he spent much of his time helping family and others as the resident handyman and mechanic. He loved cooking and grilling. He enjoyed creating faceplates. Faceplates are decorative displays of food to create a face. Gerry loved spending time out on the water boating and fishing, watching Lord of The Rings, and intimate time with his family. Gerry’s family was the most important part of his life.

Gerry was preceded in death by his brothers: George Griffin, Patrick Griffin, Michael Griffin, Daniel Griffin, Matthew Griffin and sister Shirley Griffin.

Gerry is survived by his daughter Bailey Griffin; sons Parker Griffin (Belle) and Wesley Rose; brothers Timothy Griffin (Sarah) and Terrence “Terry” Griffin (Kitty) and sister Sylvia Elands; mother of his children Laurie P. Griffin, and a host of family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A lakeside Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, 500 Wonderwood Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32233 (Shelter 10)
