It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Eric Joseph Rich, on May 23, 2023, at the age of 33. Eric was born to James Rich and Katrina Reneau-Rich in Ocala, Florida on June 20, 1989.
Eric graduated in 2008 from Flagler-Palm Coast High School where he excelled academically and had a passion for performing in the theater program.
Bright and inquisitive, Eric pursued his many interests on his own terms. His unconventional approach to life led him down varied paths to different places. Ever a free spirit, he traveled across the country in his van with his faithful companion Simba, seeking out his next adventure.
Eric loved music. Whether he was singing and playing the guitar or at a concert, he was in his element. When he wasn’t working as an insurance claims adjuster for Cross Country, you’d likely find Eric surrounded by friends, camping out at a music festival enjoying music and the great outdoors.
He is survived by his loving parents James and Katrina; his stepmother Nancy; grandmother Anita Reneau; brothers Beau Rich (Megan Russell), Andrew Rich (Tabitha), Jake Reneau, Donny Dusinberre (Jaime), and Kevin Dusinberre; sisters Elizabeth Dusinberre and Amanda Castleberry (Will); uncle Jim Reneau (Brandy); aunts Julie Caldwell and Carla Rich; nieces and nephews, cousins, and his lovable travel buddy Simba.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather George Reneau, grandparents Gerald and Olive Rich, and his Uncle Jerry Rich.
Eric will be missed by many. Those who would like to honor him with a memorial contribution are asked to donate in his name to the Abundant Life Community Center, an organization he supported. The Abundant Life Community Center provides food and clothing to local families in need. www.alccnow.org.
