Cecil “Joey” Jett, 62, of Clay County, Florida, joined his heavenly father May 28th, 2021, following an illness at Mayo Hospital. Joey was born February 9th, 1959 in Pulaski, TN. Moving to Clay County when he was five, he was a graduate from Clay High School in 1977 after which, serving in the Navy. Joey returned to Clay County to serve his community in law enforcement at Orange Park Police Department, transitioning to Clay County Sheriff’s Office serving for over 35 years.
Joey is preceded in death by his mother, Mable Elizabeth Henson Jett-Roberts; and his, father James Samuel Jett. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Jett; three children Carman Beese (husband Daniel Beese), Cecil Joe Jett Jr (wife Jessica Jett), and Samantha Pena (husband Joel Pena); three brothers Charles Jett (wife Tracey Jett), Jimmy Jett (wife Rhonda Jett) and Donnie Jett (wife Sue Jett); six grandchildren, Aiden Taggart, Lauren Cormier, Amiyah Pena, Kaytlin Cormier, Liam Elfstrom, Isabella Pena. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Joey had a true servant’s heart, who loved and adored his family. Always quick with stories or pranks and never meet a stranger. Hobbies included family, fishing, golf, playing pool, collecting coins, a good game of cards and traveling.
Visitation will be held on June 4, 2021 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Middleburg, 2645 Blanding Boulevard, Middleburg, FL. A Funeral Service will be held on June 4, 2021 at 11:30 am at First Baptist Church of Middleburg. A Committal Service will follow the funeral service at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Green Cove Springs, Green Cove Springs, FL.
