Robert L. Shephard

SHEPHARD, Robert L., age 73 of Dayton, died Friday September 18, 2015 with his loving wife and family by his side at home. He was born April 24, 1942 in Dayton to the late Robert and Dorothy Shephard and was also preceded in death by his parents-in-law Robert and Mary Jane Kurtz and a nephew, Jeptha Eads. Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sue Kurtz Shephard; children, Debbie Marburger, Rick (Wendy) Shephard, Robert (Trish) Shephard and Danny (Cindy) Shephard; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren and his siblings, Mike, Dan and JoAnn as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was a dedicated employee of General Motors for over 34 ½ years retiring as a machine repairman in 1998. Special thanks to Dr. Iberico and staff for helping his in his battle with lung cancer. Family will receive friends and loved ones, Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at St. Henry Catholic Church, Dayton from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am also at the church and officiated by Father Tom Shearer. Calvary Cemetery, Dayton will serve as Robert final resting place.
