Nathan W. Banks, 80, of West Carrollton, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 in Hospice of Dayton. He was born November 10, 1935 in Hazard Kentucky, the son of Aaron and Omie (Purdue) Banks. Nathan and his wife were the owners and operators of Metropolitan Cleaning for 35 years. Over the years, he also worked as a mechanic, owned several gas stations, and was known to some as ‘the wrench man’. He was a fan of racing and Ohio State Buckeye Football. Nathan loved flowers and gardening and was an avid Mustang car fanatic. He loved his bright orange Mustang which he enjoyed taking to car shows. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Wilma J. (Early) Banks; his daughters, Freda (David) Staup of West Carrollton and Lori (Timothy) Braun of TN; son-in-law, Walter Davis of Beavercreek; grandchildren, Brittany, Heather (Ethan), Aaron, Kristen, Warren, and Justin; brothers, Merlin (Ginger) Banks, Walter (Sandy) Banks, Wayne (Della) Banks; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nathan was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lisa Davis; brothers, Harvey, John, Harlis, and Kenny Banks; sister, Betty Banks. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, November 11, 2016 at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday at the funeral home with Russell Banks officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420.
