She was born July 2, 1927 in Miamisburg, the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Armbruster) Schmidt.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Herbie” Greggerson, son, Timothy Greggerson; grandson, Joshua Greggerson; son-in-law, Darrell Carrico; daughter-in-law, Kathy Greggerson; brothers, Herman, Andrew, and Paul Schmidt; sisters, Ruth Schmidt, Loretta Cox, Clara Rose Redrick, and Thelma Lehman.
Mary is survived by her children, Nicholas (Peggie) Greggerson, Sheila Carrico, Pamela (Brian) Clayton, Valerie (Chris) Dopel, Chris J. (Michelle) Greggerson, and Patrick (Ann) Greggerson; daughter-in-law, Nancy Greggerson; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brother, Clifford “Kip” Schmidt; special friends and extended family members, Robin and Dale Wampler.
She was a 1945 graduate of Miamisburg High School. After high school, she worked as a secretary in Dayton and then in Cincinnati. Mary and her husband, Herbie, were married in 1948. After their seven children were raised, Mary returned to the work force, working for Mound Printing for twenty years.
She was a loyal and devout member of Our Lady of Good Hope Church for almost 90 years. There she sang in the choir and was a member of the Alter Rosary Society. Mary volunteered for Helping Hands of Miamisburg for twenty years. In 1973, she started a Yahtzee Club, of which she was still a member. Mary enjoyed travel, reading, crocheting, and attending her high school class luncheons every two months. She was extremely proud of all her children and loved family gatherings, especially holidays and card nights.
Mary will always be remembered as a fun loving, caring wife and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to all.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-6 PM on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 on Monday at Our Lady of Good Hope Church with Father Ron Combs celebrant. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton.
