Joan L. Lambert Wagner

passed away on June 1, 2012. Joan was born on February 7, 1925 to Mark and Eunice Lambert. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John. Joan is survived by sons, Steve (Teri) of Miamisburg, OH; Tim (Verna) of Sevierville, TN; daughter Wendy (Bruce) Zimmerman of Richmond, KY; sister Judy (Jerry) Imes of Springboro, OH and sister-in-law Jane Weaver of FL. Joan has seven grandchildren: Bart (Julie), Brad (Heather), Ty (Missy), Bret, Angie Zimmerman (Michael), Ross, Alison Zimmerman (Missy); and nine great-grandchildren: Ashley, Jordan, Gage, Kylie, Hailee, Riley, Mikayla, Amelia, and Easton. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a vast number of friends. Joan was a life-long resident of Miamisburg, having graduated from Miamisburg High School in 1943. She married her high school sweetheart on December 28, 1945. Joan was an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Sigma Phi Gamma sorority. Joan retired from Wantz Middle School where she served as secretary for 25 years. Joan loved working with the students throughout the years. Joan’s most cherished role was as grandmother. She will be missed daily by all who knew and loved her. Her memorial service will be Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, 508 East Linden Ave., Miamisburg. The family invites all her family and friends to join them in “A Celebration of Joan’s Life” at the American Legion Post 165, 35 North Main St., Miamisburg, OH immediately following the memorial service on Sunday, June 24. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you may make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in Joan’s Wagner’s name.
