Elmer Reed Miller, 86, passed away peacefully at Kingston of Miamisburg Nursing Home on Sunday, June 26, 2016 after fighting a long illness. Elmer, originally from Tennessee, was a long time resident of Miamisburg/West Carrollton. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and worked for many years at Dayton Tire and Rubber, retiring from Firestone/Bridgestone. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Miller and Eva (Thorpe) Miller and is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Lida (Tussey) Miller, his three daughters Joyce (Leonard) Sparks, Marsha (Jamey) Foust, and Nancy (Rodney) Sparks, as well as grandchildren Angie (Mathew) Wilson, Amy Sparks, Tonya(Ben) Creamer, Lance Jones, Teddy Foust, Eric(fiance Nikki Sharma) Foust, Ethan Sparks, Carson Sparks, Jacob Sparks,and Colton Sparks. Great grandchildren Trey, Shai, Ava, Josie, Caine, and Brice. Elmer liked to take long walks and play horseshoes, (in which he was very competitive). Above all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren .Visitation will be held at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, 508 Linden Ave.,Miamisburg, Ohio on Friday, July 1st from 11AM to 1PM, funeral service immediately following with Pastor Stephen Spurgin officiating.
