Donald Fay, 82, of Miamisburg, died September 8, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Marie; one son, Michael; four daughters, Maureen (Ed) Geraghty, Suzanne (Tom) Metzger, Amy (Rich) Kasica, and Liz (Brian) Osborn; 12 grandchildren; three sisters: Ruth Ann Mustain, Mary Lee Passalacqua and Naoma Thomas, and a brother-in-law, Ernest Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents Leona and Herman Fay. Born and raised in Cincinnati, he was a graduate of Purcell High School and Xavier University. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Dayton and passed the CPA exam. Following graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Army for two years active duty during the Korean War and four years in the Army Reserves. He was married to Marie Moore in 1958, and he and his young family moved to Dayton in 1966 where he joined the senior audit staff of the Mead Corporation. His association with the company lasted a quarter of a century. During this period he served as Controller of Mead Data Central and finally as Director of Financial Affairs. He retired in 1991. Don was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Church in Miamisburg and in the summertime Our Lady of the Snows Church in Hessel, Michigan where he also indulged an avid interest in fishing. He was a lector at both churches. Don volunteered at the House of Bread soup kitchen for 9 years and served on their board. He was a long-time Eucharistic Minister at Good Samaritan Hospital and Sycamore Hospital, as well as the church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12 at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, 6 South Third Street, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Hall behind the church; eulogy at 10:15 a.m. Burial will take place at Our Lady of Good Hope Cemetery at Ninth and Kercher Streets, Miamisburg, OH.
