Thoughts and prayers for the family of such a wonderful man. It was an honor to watch him grow from a high school athlete on my basketball team to a wonderful teacher , coach and family man. It was a pure honor to coach him and to call him a colleague. 🙏.

My prayers are with Roger’s family. This is hard to wrap my head around, but I pray they receive a peace that surpasses all understanding. With love.

We went to school together for 7 years, from 6th grade to 12th grade (C/O 2000). Like most classmates, you keep in touch here and there but through social media you get to stay connected. I got to witness from afar the life created, returning to CGHS to teach/coach (so proud) and starting a beautiful family. Roger’s presence will be missed. To Roger’s family and close friends, you are forever in my prayers. I pray for your strength, but most importantly a peace that passes all understanding. Sincerely, Giselle

It saddens me to hear you left so soon. The impact you had on everyone is amazing. You instilled belief in those who probably had never believed in themselves. You had a way with people that is only a gift from God. I was blessed to be lead by an individual like yourself, constant positivity and motivation. Mr. Pollard was an amazing person and teacher and I feel terrible that he has left this earth too soon 💔 I’m sending lots of prayers to his wife and lovely children.  He was such a motivational and funny person and I can’t believe that he’s gone. I said hi to him a week ago when I saw him in the hallways. Mr. Pollard thank you for being a great teacher.

Coach Pollard was an incredible spirit and role model to me when I was in high school. It was amazing to witness his radiant energy impact so many of my friends and classmates in the span of 4 years. Through whispered sighs and tear-stained night, Her heart recoils from the ever cruel plight. A husband lost to shadows stark, Depression's grip, a relentless mark.

A love that bloomed in laughter's grace, Now echoes in an empty space. She tends to wounds that none can see, A widow, though he breathes, not free.

In silence loud, her sorrow weaves, A tapestry of shattered dreams. His laughter, once a melody, Now drowned in muted symphony.

She longs to reach his distant soul, To bridge the gaps, to make him whole. Yet, in this dance with shadows deep, Her touch can't mend what shadows reap.

Through valleys low and peaks unseen, She stands resilient, love between. A wife who feels a widow's woe, Yet, in her heart, the embers glow.

For love endures, a steadfast flame, A flicker in depression's claim. She holds his essence, fierce and true, In hope that one day, light breaks through.

In twilight's grasp, where shadows wane, A prayer ascends, a quiet bane. For love's resilience, a beacon bright, To guide them both back into light.

mr.pollard was one of the best history teachers i had and when i heard about his passing i was in shock he really did change a lot of people’s life’s i wish he would’ve known how much he impacted our life’s he was an amazing human being always so positive so caring and humble he had the brightest smile from one cheek to the other he enjoyed his job and he should be remembered as one of the best teachers in coral gables senior high school my condolences to his beautiful wife and his beautiful kids rip mr.pollard gone but never forgotten 💔

I remember Mr. Pollard will always make sure no matter what it was we went through he would do anything to put a smile on our face.

he was the most funny , nice and loving teacher I’ve ever had , when I was dealing with things he was always there to hear me out and comfort me , I’ll never forget the words he once told me “you’ve  got to live not just for others but for yourself so you can become all you want to be”,always grateful for him, may your soul rest in peace 🤍🕊️🙏🏻

Woke up to the message that you were gone, all I could think about it’s not true this can’t be happening and immediately started tearing down. I remember you always motivated everyone single one of your students, how you were there for us, how you helped me when I first got to coral gables with my problems and some how you always found a way to make me laughed. It breaks my heart I’m not going to be able to be there at least tell you a goodbye a last time. Rest in peace beautiful soul🕊️

He always pushed me to try my best and always wanted the best for his students. One time he was messing around and he said “you need to hit the weight room boy” when we were talking about the topic of football and it really inspired me to try harder and harder to be the best version of myself.
